The Alternative Fashion Fabric Fair (Alt.FFF) is a curated platform that repositions materials at the centre of fashion thinking.
Alt.FFF is a trade show created to educate the African market and showcase the diverse materials, resources, and manufacturing capabilities produced across the continent. We will be highlighting African production at every stage of the supply chain, Alt.FFF creates greater visibility, stronger industry connections, and new opportunities for intra-African and global trade.
The exhibition spotlights the raw, processed, and semi-processed materials that power the industry — including fibres, fabrics, leather, and innovative textile forms rooted in cultural heritage, sustainability, and process-led value.
Through showcases, industry conversations, and strategic collaborations, Alt.FFF creates a platform for producers, artisans, manufacturers, and designers to shape the future of fashion through local innovation, sustainable sourcing, and stronger material economies.
DAVID WHITEHEAD COLLABORATION
Alt.FFF had the honour of visiting David Whitehead Textiles in Africa, gaining an exclusive insight into the manufacturing process and the powerful relationship between industry, community, and craftsmanship.
It was inspiring to witness how creativity, design, and production seamlessly come together to produce textiles that are proudly homegrown — rooted in heritage, driven by innovation, and crafted with purpose.
The visit showcased the strength of African manufacturing and the vital role locally made materials play in shaping the future of global fashion and textile production.
